FIRST TRANSFER

by Jacqueline Lichtenberg & Jean Lorrah

There is an ecstasy beyond description,

Beyond Changeover, more than thought can heed:

The Truth we share transcends the call of need.

Beyond our knowledge, feeling, or affliction,

Beyond the strength to which our selves concede,

There is an ecstasy beyond description,

Beyond Changeover, more than thought can heed.

To you I give, defying contradiction,

I yield, and in my giving I receive,

Beyond our lives, our selves forever freed.

There is an ecstasy beyond description,

Beyond Changeover, more than thought can heed;

The truth we share transcends the call of need.

The form of this poem is the medieval triolet. How's that for collaboration between two non-poets?
